| The Maulin National Scenic Area was established in November 1991, the administration plans to link Maulin with other attractions, including the Yushan National Park and the Taiwan Folk Village and integrate their wide variety with the aim of developing this area into a major scenic region in southern Taiwan. The goal of development is to plan and integrate the cultural resources to build an image of a hot spring resort. This plan emphasizes the cultural resources of aborigines and appropriate utilization of natural resources. Through the linkage of a series of tourist spots, the goal is to build a tourist network and establish a multi-functional tourist system. Since its establishment, the Maulin Scenic Area Administration has worked to develop the existing resources and infrastructure by improving roads, planting more trees, and establishing safety facilities for tourists.
